Modern Slavery Act Statement

This statement sets out the Buy It Direct group’s actions in accordance with Section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes its anti-slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 31 March 2023. The statement identifies the steps taken to identify all potential modern slavery risks related to the business and ensure there is no slavery or human trafficking in any part of the business or its supply chain.

The group is committed to preventing slavery and human trafficking in all its activities and to ensuring that its supply chain is free from slavery and human trafficking. The group fully supports the government’s objective of eradicating modern slavery and human trafficking.

As well as employing people in the UK, the group maintains relationships with many different organisations in its supply chain throughout the world.

We adopt a risk-based approach to our anti-slavery diligence process on suppliers, depending on whether we are sourcing from UK or overseas suppliers. All suppliers are required to sign our sourcing terms and conditions, with additional screening processes adopted where considered appropriate. We expect all our suppliers to adopt the highest ethical standards and will assess any issues on non-compliance on a case by case basis.

This statement has been approved by the Buy It Direct board, who will review and update it on an annual basis.
